Roles and Responsibilities
- The analyst will be responsible for maintaining a continuous coverage on allocated industry sector and individual stocks; identifying alpha opportunities and risks; to justifying the investment thesis to our institutional clients.
- The analyst will be responsible for executing the following task and taking ownership to achieve the above objective(s):
- Create and maintain company operating, earnings forecasts and valuation models;
- Conducting statistical analysis of stock and company data, fundamentals, and relevant correlations of the data to identify alpha opportunities
- Write research reports for coverage initiations, data analysis, earnings results, and industry news to be published to our institutional investors and media. Provide Buy/Sell/Hold Recommendations;
- Maintain constant coverage of industry-related news, trends, and developments. Disseminate your insight when appropriate to internal and external stakeholders (clients).
- You will be expected to maintain a protocol for escalating emerging news across the coverage and respond to corporate actions, special situations, events, and model validation.
- Build relationships with investor relations teams of your portfolio companies. This may involve some travel.
- The analyst will also interact with institutional investors, communicating investment research and responding to models and ad-hoc analysis requests.
- The analyst will maintain a public image for the firm at conferences/events and maintain active participation in investor conference calls. Communicate the company’s research, build its brand and refer potential new clients.
*Desired Candidate Profile*
CA or CFA or MBA – Finance (MUST)
With minimum experience of 2-3 years in Institutional Research
Advanced Excel proficiency. 2-4 years of practical experience using Excel to build and maintain financial models. (MUST)
Platform experience within Bloomberg or CAPITAL IQ.
Experience writing in a professional capacity, e.g., crafting equity research notes/correspondence; presentation and/or development of industry reports; strong powerpoint skills (MUST)
Proficiency for presenting and debating a point under pressure; Strong powerpoint skills are a must.
